Federal Government Seeks $8.7 Million from Texas Schools

The Houston Chronicle is reporting today that the Federal Government is seeking at least $8.7 million in overpaid Medicaid funds for student health care. A new audit has brought the “miscalculation” was found in December by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. Most of the claims are filed with improper paperwork or used unlicensed health care providers. Of the 2,175 Medicaid claims sampled by the inspector general, 991 had errors.
