University of Texas Mourns Loss of 5 Students

The University of Texas is mourning the loss of 5 of its students this week.

The victims, all University of Texas students, were Lan Nguyen, 21, of Sugar Land; Nikolaus O. Simeon, 20, of League City; Fan Sun, 18, of Spring; Stephanie A. Wilson, 20, of Houston; and Michael T. Woodward, 22, of Austin. According to the university, all but Wilson were seniors; she was a junior.

Texas Hunter Education

Well, we all heard about VP Cheney’s hunting accident. The interesting thing is that we have received a number of emails asking us about information on hunting education. Of course, we don’t have any resources listed here specifically about hunter education in Texas, but that is something I am going to look into when time permits. So, if anyone has any information or links to good sources of information, please leave a comment here or shoot me an email (no pun intended) and we will create a page for hunting education. It is clearly a good idea to learn proper techniques for hunting.

University of Texas Students Vote on Alcohol vs. Pot

Across the country, most schools view the use of alcohol and marijuana differently. The students of the the University of Texas have said otherwise. In a vote that took place this week, University of Texas students have voted (a nonbinding referendum) to equalize the penalties for alcohol and marijuana violations. I think President Bush is not going to be too proud of his hometown students.
